Ah the times: there's nothing you can hold for very long.

I like Grateful Dead lyrics, which seem to speak on different levels. rastamon, or cosmiccharlie, or Earl, or whatever the troll name is lately -- do you know where Babylon is? Is it by the Bus?

Have you heard dem is murdera? You know war profiteering is tricky, and nothing comes for free. Self protection is one thing, crooks and liars quite another.

from Throwing Stones:

Commissars and pinstripe bosses roll the dice
Anyway they fall, guess who gets to pay the price?
Money green, or proletarian gray
Selling guns instead of food today

Inttersting variations include:

-- Bob Weir has sung variants on these two lines: eg "Any more the pinstripe bosses own the dice, Anyway they roll guess who gets to pay the price?"

-- Bob Weir sang this line as "Money green is the only way" on at least two occasions on The Dead's 2003 summer tour

-- Bob Weir has sung this line as "Blood for oil, dropping bombs today," "Drop them bombs, grab that oil today" and "Sell them guns, rape the earth today"

You have a point about protection -- it is honorable. The problem is that that pride is used by manipulators.

I wasn't trolling I just saw you go by a favorite show. It was a Reflection you saw:

It's nothing they explain
it's like a diesel train--
you better not be there
when it rolls over
And when that train rolls in
you don't know where it's been
You gotta try and see
a little further
